AUGUST
I would like to thank all the people who made sure the parish ticked over nicely in August. It is always dangerous to mention names but especially my two assistant priests, Frs Angelus and Patrick with the assistance from Fr. Robert Kublikowski. But there are so many people, Presbytery staff, sacristan, washer of linen, readers, lay ministers, offertory collectors, cleaners, welcomers, flower arrangers, altar servers, musicians and so many others so that the phone call in case of emergency never came my way - wonderful.
ALTAR LINEN
(i.e. purificators and corporals for Mass). Maria Davis has done a most wonderful job for the best part of 20 years and now would like to retire. I am so grateful to Maria for her devoted service. This is a very fulfilling ministry when you see what you have washed and ironed being used for the celebration of Mass. Is there anyone who would like to undertake this work on a voluntary basis? Please contact Fr. John.
PAPAL VISIT
Please call into the Church Office next week to collect your appropriate Pilgrim Packs.
MAGNIFICAT
Every parishioner will be given a book called Magnificat containing the liturgies and events of the Pope's visit. You will be able to follow all the readings and the music at the individual Masses if they are on television or radio.
FR. PAUL
I am a member of a religious community called the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. In my community I am known as Fr. Angelus, the name I received over 16 years ago. I have recently received permission to use this name during my time here in our diocese. I hope this will not cause too much confusion as I return to my religious name: Fr. Angelus.

FR. ROBERT KUBLIKOWSKI
will be here for the month of August. He is well known to us now. How about inviting him to your home for a meal especially at weekends. He likes to practise his English. Although we don't speak the Queens English, he likes to hear the colloquialisms but not "we was or you was", please!
FR JOHN
will be at home in Ireland during August. It will be possible to contact him through the Presbytery but only in dire emergency, please.
